Bagdad Heritage Tour 2009 presents a Christmas Civil War re-enactment:

 Christmas Furlough, Antebellum Bagdad,1862

Sat. December 5th on the main street in Bagdad, Forsyth St.   2 - 7 pm

On the Tour— The Thompson House, cir. 1847

Santa Rosa Counties most popular house, the Thompson House. During renovation writings on the wall were discovered which reads, “Bagdad Mr. Thompson Spurling First Fla Calvary camped in your house April 24,1864”

On the Tour ---The King House, cir.1903—duplex

Built as a double house by the mill and one of the first duplex houses built in Florida, this house is a true piece of Americana. Fully restored inside and out, this is a real treasure for the Village and the State of Florida

SPECIAL NOTE: This is a come and go affair.  There is no time limit or specific time to tour homes or experience venues, just do it between 2pm & 7pm.  Maybe tour the homes in daylight and come back to see the firing of the cannon and experience the encampment after dark.  Come and go as you wish to make your day and evening special.

Remember there will be guided tours and self-guided tours.
