The New Providence Missionary Baptist Church, pictured above, was
donated to the BVPA in 1989 and moved to its present site on Church
Street. It currently houses the BVPA Museum and Gift Shop. The Museum is open on the first Saturday morning of every month and for special events, educational and private tours. Admission is free but donations are always appreciated. The Museum Complex includes the Museum building and a "shotgun" style house with a kitchen, restrooms, office that functions as the headquarters of the BVPA, and a room decorated in the style typical of the 1920s era. Work is under way to catalog the large collection of photographs, documents, artifacts and other objects of historic importance. |
